Succeeded his father at Ripon Hall, 1803. J.P. for the W. R. of Yorks. Married (1) 1800, Margaret, dau. of Edmond Lodge, Esq., of Willow Hall, Yorks., and had issue; (2) 1820, Anne Margaret, dau. of the Very Rev. R. D. Waddilove, D.D., and had further issue. Sacred to the memory of two affectionate brothers early removed, as it may be humbly hoped, to an eternal inheritance in heaven; Edward James Oxley born Dec. 22nd, 1826, died April 19th, 1837; Frederic William Oxley born August 3rd, 1824, died June 22nd, 1839.
