Henry I "Beauclerc" King of England, Duke of Normandy and Lord of Domfront, born 1068 in Selby, Yorkshire, England, christened August 5th, 1100 in Selby, Yorkshire, England
his nickname "Beauclerc" means "fine scholar" as he was the first Norman king who could read and write 4th and youngest son of William the Conquerer and possibly the most ambitious. Possibly masterminded the death of his brother William II and tricked his other brother Robert into being imprisoned for the rest of his life.

Henry had at least 25 illegitimate children by eight or more other women.
A highly capable king who maintained peace throughout England through most of his reign. Although he was frequently involved in
warfare, most was over his lands at Normandy. Established the crown exchequer, the basis for the future Treasury. Established the first English zoo. died December 1, 1135 in St. Denis, Seine-St. Denis, France from ptomaine poisoning after eating some lampreys.
