Vatican City, 11 (NE) On occasion of the millennium of Saint Steven of Hungary, Pope John Paul II wrote a letter to Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Secretary of State of the Vatican, naming him his legate for this celebration, which will take place next August 20 in Budapest.
In the letter, written in Latin and dated June 29, the Pope praises the saint´s virtues, "first king of Hungary, just governing his people, peaceful and pious, who constantly fostered the life of the Church, followed the laws of God and searched the good of his subjects."
